Other than "Phone Tap" Nas last few singles and videos had been on the commercial tip with If I Ruled the Ruled, Street Dreams, Street Dreams Remix, Firm Biz.... and then he dropped an all-time lead single with a classic Premo beat and no hook. That single is one of the things I'll always love about Nas, yet will always disappoint me to some degree. He always drops a street song as a single, but his albums never maitain the same kind of energy. I realize he can't drop an entire album of "Nas Is Like"s, or "Made You Look"s, but I would like more than two or three street burners on the album.

Still, most artists put out a commercial track for their lead single, most shoot a video for the most radio friendly track. They might do a low budget video for their street single too. Nas though, it's pretty much a given that his singles will be one of the two street tracks on his album. Probably hurts his sales a bit, but can't deny his integrity.

I also remember the Hate Me Now video. The track itself was bonkers and the video was even better.

i didn't hear or remember Nas is LIke on the radio that much here in Chicago.

i remember Hate me Now tho... that shyt gets me pumped up
