Remember how popular and mainstream wrestling shirts used to be in the late 90s?

So Cal
To me it became uncool when WWE insisted on putting the wwe logo in prominent places on the shirts.

I thought about buyijg an USO down since day 1 shirt, but the wwe logo ruins it.
Naw. Happened in 02 with the mass exodus of fans and wrestling losing its mainstream appeal and becoming uncool.

It's niche now, but in the past couple of years, a whole lot of wrestling memorobilia has skyrocketed in value.

The prices for some of the vintage shirts from the late 90's/ early 00's are straight :picard: these days. Even the remakes that Westside Gunn is doing with Fourth Rope have a resell market.

If I was still in the vintage game, I would have probably started digging for old wrestling tees too, as a quick flip.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I had an Austin 3:16. original nWo B&W, nWo Wolfpac, and a Sting (Crow) shirt. I never got a Rock shirt, although I liked the one with the blue Brahma Bull with red eyes. I remember kids getting in trouble in Middle School for wearing the DX shirt. :russ:

Today, I still casually wear my purple Macho Man shirt out and I get a lot of compliments on it (especially when I'm in Tampa for vacation - he's a legend around there.) I've also been thinking about getting a Bret Hart shirt, but I haven't decided yet. Still looking around for the right one.

Another missed shirt opportunity: The Monday Night Jericho shirt.

Jericho has been a real disappointment in these later years, but he really was one of my favorites in WCW in 1998. I wished I had got that shirt.

EDIT - To be fair, that $25.95 probably would've went into the pockets of Hogan and Sting like the rest of the WCW merch money.

Those shirts today you can still wear cause they struck such a chord with people. It also helped that you have actual gimmicks back then, leading to actual nick names and catch phrases that made sense. That hardly exists today. Who would wear a “Lunatic Fringe” shirt in public :mjlol:. And also, those eyesore WWE logos were so trash. I don’t know if they still do that, but it was awful

I’ve been talking myself out of buying a starrcade 97 shirt for 200 all summer
