Religion and Islamaphobia

I beginning to agree with some of the other poster here. We need to create a sub-thread on relgion and leave the discussions there. Furthermore, it seems like every event involving Muslims, seems to bring out this very nasty rash of Islamaphobia, xenophobia and bigotry. I believe this is not only counter productive to the better angels of Higher Learning but also I would like to not this site be a breeding ground of hatred and enmity.

I don't want this to become st0rmfr0nt for Muslims.

At the end of the day these people are in a transitional phase, similar to the transitional phase that occurred during Muhammeds lifetime. These people are being pressed by a militant theocracy, while being pestered by a county (US) whose interests only go as far as black gold will take them. We are focusing our anger towards the worst of a group and speaking in generalities, while being disrespectful to cultures that aren't our own.

Some people people will, dap some will pos/neg rep me but I ask that we take a look at ourselves a little more before we pass judgement on things we have no real knowledge of.

I love all my Muslim brothers here and in real life. They are often some of the best people I have met. It doesn't change the fact that they believe in myths that have scripture which can easily be construed as seeking violence and intolerance of others. The fact that most Muslims ignore most of what the Quran and hadiths ask of them show me that there is hope that they will break free from Their mental shackles.

But I have no hatred for them as people.

You say these things as truth but the problem is you never produce any evidence. I've been asking you all week and you keep declining. Where does Islam teach these things? What does the Qur'an ask that "most Muslims ignore"?

You can't just say this stuff and not back it up, friend. You also can't state as fact it's a myth. That is your opinion, one you're certainly entitled to, but an opinion nonetheless.
