Redman has revealed he doesn’t kick it with his longtime collaborator Method Man when they’re not working – but it’s still all love between them.

Appearing on a new episode of the Julian Dorey Podcast, the New Jersey legend was quick to say “Hell no!” when asked whether he still hangs out with his How High partner.

“We do shows and we come back home,” he explained. “I don’t hang out with a lot of rappers at all. This is work, this is home. We’re very inclusive with our movement. Once we’re off the road, we’re like, ‘Alright. You got family to deal with, I got shyt I gotta do.’ My circle is very small. So we all have different lives. I don’t hang out with rappers. I might call.

“There’s a lot of MCs who I’m connected with. Of course Wu[-Tang Clan] is my crew or whatever, but there’s a lot of artists that we might chop it up on the phone – but no. The only artists I hang out with is my boy DoItAll from Lords of The Underground and Treach if I see him in the hood and that’s about it. And Kid Capri. Kid Capri is my big bro. I talk to him and go see him all the time. But he’s not a rapper though. He’s a DJ. One of the best.”

The convo begins at the 1:55:31 mark below.

As it pertains to work, though Redman would love to get back in the booth with Method Man for Blackout! 3 – but Meth has other plans.

Sitting down with Red Bull for their Red Bull Spiral series in November, the pair discussed their storied careers and what they’d like to do next.

“I want to do a Blackout! 3, Maybe like 12 songs,” Red said.

Meth replied: “We are not even focused on no Blackouts! or any of that shyt right now. Brother, we are focused on this TV and movie stuff and producing as well. We’ve got to get these stories out there.”

Happens to many friendships as we get older :yeshrug:

This. It'll happen to everyone eventually.

I have the same circle I went to high school with and we only get together about 1-2 times a year. I talk to a few of them regularly but it's not like back in the day when we were 19, 20, 21 when we were around each other 24/7 because we didn't have much going on.

Does it have to be that way though?

I'd say yes.

As you get older you simply do not have the free time you did back when you were young.

People have wives, kids, different work schedules, some move, etc.

From 1991 to around 2003 me and my friends went to school together, lived together in some cases, a bunch of us worked together, etc.

Past a certain point that becomes damn near impossible.

I don’t know if I agree with this especially if we all live in the same city

I will say for clarity I’m currently going through that situation right now and I’m very much feeling a type of way about it if I’m being honest, and Lowkey not having free time is kinda a bad excuse in my opinion

I’m honestly at a point where ima chalk it up as folks not really fukking with me for real, which it is what it is I didn’t necessarily have friends like that anyway growing up

It depends. I have people I don’t see or speak to everyday but when we catch up it’s like nothing ever changed and never missed a step.
