Extract cores, upgrade them, or put them in new characters.

ReCore creators Keiji Inafune, CEO of Comcept, and Mark Pacini, game director of Armature Studio, discuss the newly announced Xbox One game in a new video interview.

“The main character Jewel has a special relationship with Mack, the robot character in the video, because Mack actually found Jewel at the beginning of the game,” Pacini explained. “So you prolong this relationship throughout the whole game. He’s actually part of a faction that’s trying to help you bring back humanity to the planet. And there’s this whole other faction of robots that don’t want that to happen.

Inafune added, “One of the big features of the game is that the scenery completely changes after a sandstorm, which actually affects the maps in the gameplay. In this world, there are very few humans, and this girl is all by herself. As you can see, she has one companion robot. As you continue on this adventure, you are going to meet other companions, as well as enemies. The game’s main theme focuses on how she is going to survive in this world.

“During the fight with the robots, Mack was defeated, but his core remained. Mack’s consciousness still remains in the core, and by implanting the core into another robot, Mack’s consciousness will also be implanted and Mack will live on in another form.”

Players will be able to get cores from other robots by extracting them. Once you have that core, you can decide whether to upgrade it or put it in another character. In the trailer, we see Mack sacrifice himself for the player.

“This is a very epic story full of mystery and adventure,” Inafune said. “As I said, robots play a very important role in this adventure, and there will be many more robots that will lead to a rich experience. There will also be many other companion robots you can partner with, and each of the different robots will lead to unique adventures.

“We created this game envisioning a possible future for humanity. I wanted to make a game that explores which direction future humanity is heading and how humanity will end.”

Amazon has update the product page for ReCore, revealing the box art of the recently-announced videogame. Check out the software product’s cover, in multiple angles, below this paragraph.

ReCore was officially announced at Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference. The biggest name behind the project is Keiji Inafune, the creator of the Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Mega Man and Onimusha series. His company, Comcept, is responsible for the Soul Sacrifice series for the PlayStation Vita in addition to the upcoming Mighty No. 9. Comcept is teaming up with Armature Studio, a company that was founded by key members behind the development of the Metroid Prime series.

ReCore is described an action-adventure game where you control Joule, one of the last surviving humans on the planet that has been overtaken by robots. With that said, she will be able to befriend some friendly robotic companions as she explores dungeons and other areas hidden by the sandstorm.

Microsoft Studios is the publisher of ReCore, which is expected to come out next spring season as an exclusive for the Xbox One. Only a computer-generated trailer has been shown so far, so we should see some actual gameplay sometime before release. If you are interested, you can preorder the latest Keiji Inafune game with this link from the online retailer.

This should be amazing, no gameplay makes me skeptical though.

But the makers of prime and the Keiji being involved pretty much mean its going to have an amazing atmosphere and gameplay.
