This book by cheikh anta diop would be a good start, my cousin gave me a copy when I was 16, one of the first books that really opened my eyes

Roots is too long, I watched the entire series from beginning to end when those DVDs dropped a few years back and I swear it took me about 5 months
but yeah every American Citizen, black, white, Asian, Hispanic etc should be required to watch that series at least once in their lifetime..
Carl Sagan's Cosmos should also be required viewing for every citizen, the country would be in a much better place.

Ha I actually just watched roots for the first time last week. Got it from the library and had to split it up over 2 days. It was cool though.

Am I the only one who thought Hidden Colors was overrated?
I dunno, I wasn't impressed while watching it and felt that other films did what it was trying to do alot better (The film "A Great and Mighty walk" that I posted for example)
Plus this dude Tariq Nasheed is a male giggalo pimp type that was on Jay Leno trying to teach some cac how to manipulate women and be a "playa"
