Our country thinks were all big and tough with all our guns and SUVs and shyt. But think about it this way, people freak out when the power goes off for 4 hours and they can't play their xbox and their food starts to spoil. People freak out over 4 dollar gas prices. Now imagine the power goes out for two weeks with no word of when it's coming back on, in the middle of the winter. :damn: Imagine 10 dollars a gallon or no gas at all. Americans aren't built for that psychologically.

to be honest I believe you'll find that people adapt very quickly. We have the bodies and minds of our ancestors still; we will survive. As long as there's a managed decline instead of a sudden catastrophe you will pick up the new habits like it's only natural.

Maybe, but only after millions die off like the elderly, newborns, and people who need certain medicines and vaccines.

I'm talkin if there is a total breakdown in Government. Like one day you wake up and a foreign EMP disables all technology and there is chaos (like New Orleans Katrina type chaos). Or if suddenly gas runs out. In any of those scenarios you think employees would worry about transporting medicines to stores? And if they did how would they do it without gas? How would old people survive without heat and air conditioning? Look how easily society went to shyt in New Orleans...why do you have so much faith in humanity? history shows us civililazation and order is very fragile

Not so sure about that, I think that Katrina shows that even if the US are the wealthiest country (def not pro capita, that's got to be Switzerland or some Scandinavian coutry) it isn't enough to handle a major crisis. With the social disparity shyt would get real very quick IMO.

Japan looks like a country that is ready to handle any crisis, I mean they get hit by tsunamis/earthquakes and it never seems to lead to total chaos. They got nuked (twice!) and shrugged that off too. They might just be used to shyt happening tho :yeshrug:

you have a good point about Katrina. Your society isn't integrated properly.. but you know, what I meant was the fact that you guys had this dome ready to go where people could get food and water is more than a lot of 3rd world countries can do ASAP

but you're right the response was very slow and there was too much politics. I remember a bunch of people saying that everyone should have taken the bus out of town the night before so it's their fault :smh: instead of solving the problem it was too much about assigning blame
