I liked the song they had on the High School High soundtrack, but never listened to either of their albums even though I have them. Maybe I should. 
i've said it before on other forums and i'll say it again, k-def's production on here was truly ahead of its time and some of the most overlooked work in hip-hop history. larry-o was a run of the mill biggie wanna-be but k-def took the lessons that marley marl taught him and became greater than the teacher on this lp. it's a shame that he never got more placements after this.

K-Def produced a lot of bangers in the mid 90s, and he kept a lot of heat for his own album.

this album is damn near perfect production wise and holds up so well, its the biggest reason why i posted it

I have written about this record numerous times.
as, it is the biter blueprint template for what would become other fat run of the mill rappers.
or in the case of shine, a skinny nikka biting biggie.
by just rhyming off of big's last word, and making biter based rhymes.
over production, that would do all the heavy lifting.
only actual record I spin from the day it dropped was the iceberg slick joint.
which is more about the sum of the parts, productionwise.
than, the actual rapper's performance.
real live,
is what if pudgee the fat b*stard had convincability on reel with street content.
with better more focused production by the protégé of one of the goat's in rap history's production.
the drawback to real live was that slick left bars open and did not close them out, cadence to flow wise.
which made him a complete bummer to listen to.
if he did that, and was more dynamic with advanced technical skills.
he could have possibly made a classic like royal flush.

I still have this album on cassette..........bought it on vinyl in '99.........this album was mastered by Tom Conye who is a good friend of mine and another reason why the album sounds so good........he has been putting in major work over the years........
