Real-Life Version of Resident Evil Is a Bloody Puzzle Game
Capcom is rolling out an official Resident Evil attraction at Universal Studios Japan. It's four floors of terror—and puzzles.
While the attraction doesn't officially open until tomorrow, Kotaku was able to have a look during today's press preview.

Set in a version of Racc00n City, Resident Evil The Escape has visitors on a studio tour of the city's news station.
Groups are divided into fours. Each group is given a suitcase and a tablet computer.
Then, everyone gathers to watch the filming of a TV program, which introduces the latest Umbrella Corp. product—a medical patch that makes you feel better. Of course, everything goes to crap, and infected zombies rampage in the studio until they're shot dead by Umbrella's commandos.
Your tablet receives an email with a puzzle in it. And to get out of the four-floor buidling, you must solve the puzzles to escape. The answers are in the room, so it's necessary to explore after getting the hints. According to USJ, that usually takes people about 90 minutes. Some can do it faster. Some slower.
Oh, and as you solve the puzzles, there are zombies roaming about, too. Well, people dressed as them, at least! Like in these thrilling pics from USJ:

But to give you an idea of how Resident Evil has been recreated in real life, here is a look at the zombie-free area on the first floor.
Pretty cool, no? No, I didn't check to see if you could move the chairs—or if they were bolted to the floor.
Resident Evil The Escape can be experienced for a limited time only. The attraction ends its run at Universal Studios Japan on May 10.
