He didnt want to answer questions about the ATL incident today at his podium, understandable....but then he made that quote.

I knew some in the media would take that quote and run with it and they already have.

Obviously he might've meant that he lives with the situation/questions everyday of his life...or as some are suggesting maybe he lives with the guilt of his involvement everyday of his life.

Either way, I dont see why no one cared about this for the past 10 years, up until about 3 weeks ago.
