shyt all the instruments they could play and the production on those albums was :banderas:

"And you can new jack swaaaang on ma nuts"

Always liked how they sorta made fun of themselves on that and flipped what was a diss towards their genre of music and turned it into a dope song.

I give them a 7. Didn't discover them till around 05. But I remember Feels Good, Anniversary and Never Rains in SoCal being played by my mom when I was a kid. So when I rediscovered them, I gained a new found appreciation for their sound. They were different. As a musician myself, I could tell they were very well learned in other classical, foreign styles of music like salsa, bolero, jazz etc. I loved that they utilized samples, and styles from past greats like Sly and the Family Stone & James Brown. They were very creative.

Only one good album though and I wouldn't consider it a classic. I could never listen to an album from them all the way through. Feels Good & Anniversary are certified classic status though. Raphael is one of the coldest producer/songwriters this century too.

8. Knocked off a couple points because their lead wasn't all that. Raphael was always just good enough. But they are another group that has been sample to death. They have a legendary catalog. Alot of timeless music.

And i never knew "Lay Your Head on My Pillow" was about eating p*ssy until a few years ago. :mjlol:
