Yesterday’s results:

Samurai Champloo: 9.27

For the fourth day of the rate that anime series we saw Samurai Champloo tally a scented score of 9.27 putting it in second place behind Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood)

On to day 5:

Rules:

I gave it a 10 but maybe I'm biased because I read it and skip the filler.

the anime is trash but the manga is a 10/10

I'm on episode 1 of the anime but 50 or so of the manga...I'm gonna stick to the manga lol

The rush to produce episodes on a weekly basis in pace of the manga really limits the visual production that an OP anime deserves to have (in contrast, OP films have no time restrictions and look amazing). Some chapters will only take 10 minutes to read, but Toei has to stretch that to 22 to fit a time window and the results are almost always awful.

Pre time skip before the rush to churn out episodes weekly there were scenes that I thought lived up to the manga if not improving upon it, like Robin screaming she wants to live at Enies Lobby and Zoro's "nothing happened" - 8/10. Post time skip the quality took a nosedive and there's been no reason to watch vs read, 5/10. There are now more episodes post time skip than pre. 6/10.
