I am enjoying psychonauts 2 a lot more…the mistake I made when I saw the previews for rift apart was playing ratchet and clank on PS4…with rift apart largely being more of the same, I wasn’t as excited/enthralled with it even tho it was a very good game
@PS5 that should answer your question in another thread as to why I skipped the OG psychonauts and jumped straight into 2…for these type of games geared toward a younger audience, the initial “kiddie” charm of it would wear off for me in a series
I would say the combat in rift apart runs circles around psychonauts 2 but psychonauts 2 has some of the best level designs I’ve experienced in gaming…like ever…I fully understand now/appreciate why game developers place collectibles in games…it’s almost like “hey go explore the map and look at all the cool shyt we designed in the game”
…of course this sucks if the level design is shytty and uninspiring…psychonauts 2 tho makes me want to explore every section of it…I’ve gone thru every level at least 2-3 times now
