Insomniac Games took the opportunity to show off Ratchet And Clank: Full Frontal Assault today. They've sent out screenshots and released some basic gameplay details.
In Full Frontal Assault, an alien army is on the warpath. The only thing standing in their way is Ratchet, Clank and Captain Quark. Players take on the role of one of these three characters and face these aliens on five levels spread across three planets. It can be played alone or with a friend via online or split-screen co-op.
Full Frontal is retro and modern at the same time. It uses the third-person camera from the older games in the series. However, the classic R&C gameplay has a new twist: tower defense. In addition to killing any aliens in your way, you'll need to defend your own base.
I'm curious to see how extensive this tower defense feature is. Will you actually build up these defenses yourself? How much do you need to manage these bases? This side of the game could be an engaging compliment or aggravating distraction from the usual action of the series.
