In 2014, rapper Eve tied the knot with British millionaire, Maximillion Cooper after four years of dating. The rapper, whose real name is Eve Jihan Jeffers, still goes by just “Eve” but she did change her name to Eve Cooper.
While promoting her new Lifetime movie, With This Ring, Eve stopped by the Meredith Vieira Show. Six months into her marriage, the actress says that her husband has already changed her.
When asked about her husband Eve said,
“He’s cute… He’s really cute. We just have fun together. He’s the one that tamed me.”
When asked if he tamed her from “being a rapper”, the newlyweds says he tamed her from “being crazy”.
“He enjoys my crazy sometimes, so it’s good. It’s a really good relationship, so I’m happy.”
The actress told Meredith that she is happy that her husband made her more calm and certainly more happy. The one thing she says is a little hard to accept is that her new husband is severely lacking when it comes to breaking some moves on the dance floor. Her new love, she shared, just doesn’t seem to be able to keep up with the rhythm when he’s on the dance floor.
She said,
“My poor baby. I don’t let him dance. It’s really bad. It’s honestly so bad that I thought he was joking. I was like, ‘Oh that’s cute! You’re like dancing…you know.’ And then he did it again and did it again, I was like, ‘You know what? You shouldn’t dance.’ He’s cute so it really messes his whole thing up. So I’m like, you know what? You stand still and I’ll dance around you.’”
Even though the rapper joked about not being happy about her husband inability to set the dance floor on fire, she shared that he is extremely supportive and that is one of the many things she appreciates about him and how he teaches her to not stress herself out so much.
“Being married has changed me in a lot of different ways. It’s funny because I’m a really fiercely independent person and I always have been. Being married, you have to relinquish some of that.
Not in a bad way but in the way that you need to sit back and trust your partner to be able help you with things. Sometimes my husband has to say to me, ‘Chill. You’re my wife now. I can take the ball from here. Don’t even stress.”
The rapper said she often has to remind herself that even though she had been doing things all by herself, she now has a partner and doesn’t have to do everything by herself, which she said was “nice”.
