2nd rape reported on Harvard campus - Metro Desk - Local news updates from The Boston Globe
A second rape has been reported in the Harvard campus area, Harvard University police said today on their website.
The rape happened sometime after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Oxford and Kirkland streets, an area near the university science center, police said. The rape happened four days after the first rape was reported, steps away in nearby Harvard Yard.
The victim reported the attack today to Somerville police. Harvard and Cambridge detectives are investigating the incident.
The offender was described as a white male, 5-foot-6, thin, with dark spiky hair.

Police said in an advisory to the community posted on the Web that uniformed and plainclothes officers and uniformed security guards had been increased on the campus, which sprawls around busy Harvard Square.
In the first case, a woman was attacked in the early morning hours of Aug. 10 in Harvard Yard, the heart of the campus. Police said the woman entered the yard through Johnston Gate around 3:05 a.m. when she was assaulted.
The offender was described by police as a man who was very tanned, in his mid-20s, and had a medium build and dark hair.
