Sonic 3 & K (GOAT Sonic game)
Sonic 2 (Classic)
Sonic Mania (Classic)
Sonic Generations (Great)
Sonic Adventure (Hasn't aged great in some respects, but still a good game)
Sonic Adventure 2 (Great, only reason it's not above SA is the Knuckles/Rouge stages)
Sonic Forces (Decent, but too easy and not very memorable. Creating a character was fun tho)
Sonic Unleashed (Okay, but not very memorable. Didn't care for the werehog thing)
Sonic 4 (Very average)
Sonic Heroes (Mediocre. Also the worst voice acting in a Sonic game which say something)
Sonic 06 (Terrible)

Never played Colors or Lost World. Not sure where to put Sonic 1

The best sidescrolling Sonic game is Sonic CD. I really don't know why you didn't include it. It is a main Sonic game.

Sonic Mania and 2 are neck and neck, 3 and K a close third, then everything else. Sonic Advance is very slept on but I don't consider that a "main" Sonic game series.

My favorite 3D Sonic is Sonic Adventure 2, but I understand why people wouldn't think it's the best. Outside of that it would have to be Generations and then SA1 (Big the Cat and the open world element of the stage select didn't age well).

I think the main ones I'd call outright bad are Sonic 1, Sonic 06, and sonic advance 2. The sonic 06 fan-patch makes it ok but there's no saving the other 2. Rest are somewhere between mid to aiight to amazing.
