He's a deangelo/mccollum-tier SG man. He nice, but he's not moving the needle like Donovan Mitchell or anything

Part of his success and failure has been due to the team around him. On one hand he's been putting up stats for a bad team, but on the other hand, he hasn't had much real depth of help.

But I can't see ignoring his obvious talent, he's efficiently putting up numbers. But we can agree to disagree...

I think he's better than all of them offensively but yeah something's missing. I wouldn't put Mitchell on a higher tier than those guys tho, I think if you put any one of them on the Jazz they don't get worse. Gotta remember the Jazz were a good team before Mitchell got there and they have 2x DPOY and a solid core.

Can any knicks fan explain what’s going on? Did he just hit a wall?

Not really a Knicks fan but I have MSG so I have watched every game this season mainly to watch RJ develop and some other young guys on the team like Mitchell Robinson

Couple of things

Yes he could be hitting a wall and teams have adjusted to him
That is only a percentage of it
But it is more than that

He plays next to too many vets who
1) only look for their shot trying to bolster their stats
2) constantly freeze him out
guys like Morris, Randle, Payton, Portis etc.

Not only that
3) he is stuck in the corner while Payton and Randle dribble the ball for the majority of the clock

4) the spacing is VERY POOR around him
This cannot be stressed enough
He needs spacing to thrive as he is not a good shooter yet so his main strength is driving to the basket
He is not even one of the primary ball handlers on the team

All in all, he is not being used properly, is not the focal point, and is surrounded by very poor spacing with him mainly being used as a spot up shooter in the corner

He is not being put in a position to succeed
