lol at you doubting this. Save your money and buy 2 of each. Microsoft pissing people off might have this thing get ripped apart faster than locked bootloaders on android devices.

the later model slims required taking a powerdrill to a PC board with a kamikaze technique and soldering. the mod squad era had mods so easy anybody with a PC and a sata cable could do them.

i don't doubt the One will eventually be cracked but the methods of doing the hack will likely be too risky to do on a $400 or so box.

whoever cracks it will have to figure out how to authenticate the box to defeat the daily checks.

x86 will allow more to dive in...this is not a PowerPC platform anymore. I am sure SONY has their doubts as well.

Piracy only killed one console...the PS2 was hacked to death and still pushed major numbers. I am sure firmware updates will be pushed faster than they were on the PS3 to try to prevent the masses from modding, but that shouldn't be a problem if you are primarily an offline gamer (such as myself)

New consoles are basically PC's at the core. To keep it simple old consoles were on some Aliens shyt and they still managed to be hacked.
