Quintessential Scene: Spike Lee

Alright film room brehs...new/slightly revamped thread concept. Tried this some time back where I asked for you guys to post Coppola's best scene. This time I want you guys to post what you think is the 1 scene out of the director's career that describes who they are as a director to an audience. From camera movements, dialogue, framing, etc. I'll take the 4 most nominated scenes and we will have a poll for them to determine the director's quintessential scene.

To start it off we have the legend Spike Lee

Was actually thinking about making a Spike Lee "best scene" thread.

Dont know if you meant just one shot, but I've always been in awe of this. The cinematography, the music, the editing, etc. Its just perfect.

just post scenes that you feel perfectly sum up Spike's style of directing or embody his whole work as a filmmaker

everyone brings up the dolly shots (this is true) but I was thinking something along the lines of this

these 2 scenes describe Spike's on the nose & layered social commentary evident in all his movies...showcasing the underlying, overt hate as well as celebrating the differences that helped make NYC the unique place it is.

Great examples posted so far. I’ll add the hospital scene from Malcolm X. My favorite scene of all time and I think it sums up everything great about Spike
