I prefer Maschine's software (right now) over MPC's. Native Instruments has had time to get a lot of the bugs out and at least for the 1.8 version it runs flawless. I'm someone who came from a MPC2000XL so there was a bit of a learning curve in the beginning, but if you understand the process in making a beat, you'll find Maschine actually cuts like 3-4 steps (i.e. Sampling, triggering pads, etc). I love also how Maschine lets you use not only VSTs on each channel but you can use plug ins you already have in your system (i.e. Waves bundle, etc) and they run flawlessly. My experience with MPC's software was it sorta mirrors the MPCs like the 60 and the 2500, but I had issues when using VSTs and plug ins on multiple tracks. Sometimes the software would freeze then had to reboot. I'm not sure if they've updated the software, but to me Maschine is the better of the two.
