Ima need proof of Phil saying he wants to keep Rambis as head coach before I believe anything.

I like Blatt more than most. I think he's creative, I think he was undermined a lot. I don't think he's perfect, but he was a rookie head coach, many coaches do better their second time around.
I'd certainly prefer him to the list of people that are currently being floated (shaw/MOARrambis).
Personally, I'd agree that maybe rondo for two years at 8M is better than Conley at 20+ -- but I'm actually a little worried about the Melo/Rondo mix. In Boston it took KG (specifically) Paul Pierce AND Ray Allen PLUS Doc (not a great coach, but a great manager of egos/personalities) to keep Rondo on the rails, and going hard every night. I'm not totally sure we have that, unless Phil specifically got heavily involved.
On top of that Rondo is 30. He's definitely lost a step, he's till athletic, and still creative with the ball in his hands, and he might even be the kind of headstrong point guard that I've advocated for - the type that knows when NOT to give the ball to Melo. But I just can't personally get behind the move. Feels like a short term fix, and the truth is, even though many won't want to hear it -- next season is still going to very much be a rebuilding year. We might be in low-key tank mode again.![]()
