Psy video Gangnam Style earns $8 million on YouTube - SlashGear

Nikesh Arora, Google chief business officer, noted on the company’s fourth quarter earnings call that Psy's Gangnam Style offering on YouTube (which at press time had 1,233,872,169 views...) had earned the South Korean one-hit-wonder's song $8 million dollars in ad revenue.

Shaun McGlaun adds, "It sounds as if the song has been much more successful than people believed. If you do a bit of math, QZ reports that each time the video is played it generates about $.65 in revenue. Since YouTube takes approximately 50% of the revenue generated by video, Psy (or at least his record company) have made about $4 million from the YouTube video alone."

I don't fukking know. I ask people that love it which is just about everyone and they make me feel like an idiot or like I'm old and out of touch for not liking it without them actually giving me a reason for it's appeal.
