Artie Pelullo, the head of Banner Promotions, was in Los Angeles on Tuesday where he met with Golden Boy Promotions to try and iron out the details to make a match-up between junior welterweights Ruslan Provodnikov and Lucas Matthysse.
"As far as I'm concerned, Oscar (De La Hoya), Eric (Gomez) and I are on the same page. We're presenting Matthysse and Provodnikov for March the 28th, the fight will be on the network that pays the most amount of money," Pelullo said to BoxingScene.com.
Showtime has made an offer to broadcast the fight, but the veteran promoter explained - "Right now, where we're at, HBO has a right to match an offer that Showtime as put on the table. We're very excited about the fight. Whatever network buys the fight, it'll be good for boxing."
As just where will this anticipated match-up take place?
"We're looking at the StubHub Center( in Carson, California), we're looking at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, we're looking at Miami and we're also looking at Arizona. So there's several locations we're looking at," said Pelullo.
The StubHub Center, which has become a favored fight destination is believed to be the front runner to land this fight.
"The bottom is this," Pelullo said. "Whatever network should be fortunate enough to buy the fight, it's one of the great fights for boxing in the last several years."
