Anyone here game on a projector? I just got one and I’m looking for a way to calibrate the picture. Out the box it’s good enough but could be better. Suggestions?

Suggestions?

trial and error

we don’t even know the make/model of your projector...but still even then there’d only be so much we could help you w/

also if you condense the question and include the type of projector you have and google it...it’ll lead you to a number of dedicated A/V forums w/ a variety of threads and answers in case you need to do any other troubleshooting...maybe do a google search for ‘optimal calibration settings for [name and model of your projector]’

I know setting up a projector can be a bit of a hassle but totally worth it when you get everything right

I bought the optoma gt1080hdr projector and did those searches before I came here. This projector ain’t that popular or I’m not searching the right word combo.

I hoped YouTube had quality tv calibration videos. There were a few but nothing as good as my Disney blue ray disk. I’d use it but it’s in Georgia and I wont be back there for a while. Thanks for the advice though.

i dont mind if its not short throw.. i have lots of room and i blocked out the windows too :heh:

I returned the one I bought.. it looks nice but it was pointless gaming in 1080 on a ps5 :dahell:

here’s a great thread ***warning*** at its core it’s still a porn forum so there are ads all over the place but it’s like TLR mostly in the sense that they talk about random shyt…the thread content is safe once you can block out the ads

if you’re skeptical of going to the site then just check out this brother’s YT

off-hand tho you should be able to get a reasonably priced optoma 4K gaming projector compared to how much they were when I bought mine

the only issue I had at the time was I had to set my xbox to 1080 as a “catch-all” but it would automatically hit 4K when I played games/streamed movies…the issue was the xbox dashboard was only 1080 at the time so when I set the xbox to 4K, it wouldn’t show thru the projector…that shouldn’t be an issue now tho since the dashboard is in 4k…it was a quick fix at the time tho once I did some reading around

I copped a benq l300x gaming projector... way better then the optoma I bought... I just sat it on the desk and adjusted the legs and it was good to go... :banderas:

only problem is I can't get 120hz to work on games yet :manny:
