Yeah back in the day I bought his PAWNS OF THE GAME lp on vinyl the one he released on Luke Skywalker records.
It was HORRIBLE....
He tried wayyyyy to hard to sound like Chuck D on that lp
But on the second lp...he found his own "voice" And personality
And it showed on my favorite track by him VERBAL INTERCOURSE where he quotes from the 120 lost found lessons of the N.O.I ...
That was amazing and inspiring to me because that same year I got knowledge of self via the NGE

MC Serch always bothered me...i hate that he's from Rockaway...heard stories how he used to openly go around dropping N bombs all the time back in the day cuz he was "down" and had a "black wife"....he always came off superrrrrrr corny to me like he just wanted to be down so badly....as a cac i always respected white ppl in hip hop that didnt try to run from their whiteness
Yeah... it always seemed weird that after Griff got kicked out of PE he ended up getting a record deal with Luke... out of all people. Well... now we know the back story.
Griff's a funny and interesting dude... I need to watch more of his interviews.
