Producers are carrying hip-hop on the most part these days. They have been consistently getting better and better but I can not say the same for rap skills. Does anybody think differently?

A lot of albums that came out the past year or so, sound good on first listen because of the beats but when you listen to the lyrics its just ok, listenable on the most part (Except for a few of course)

Why is this?

I thought at first is that not everybody likes good rappers but everyone likes good beats?. Or maybe because people listen to music more passively ?

spot on to a point......production has gotten better in some cases but there is no individuality in the beats. they all sound the same and you cant tell who is who from the most part. but as production has gotten better........... lyrically other than a few heads lyrics have gotten much much worse:manny:
