I am just wondering....if black people have turned problackness into a marketing tool. Sort of like these rapppers/celebs taking photo ops at the million men march. Is problackness an ideology that black people in 2015 or even have ever truly believed in? Or is it something that people claim to make themselves look good or seem righteous.

If pro-black family was understood to be mandatory to claim problack...how many bm/bw would genuinely fall in that category?

In fact if not having children out of wedlock was a requirement to claim christianity how many bw/bm could seriously claim to be christians. I am so sick and tired of blacks not sticking to an ideology and being so coward with it. Trying to always make concessions, and really not standing for anything. I think theres too much hypocrisy in black christian/concious circles and that we let ish slide too much.

If you claim an ideology that you dont live yes i will judge your black arse.

If you keep having kids that you cant feed and take care of...yes i will judge your black arse.

If you are living way above your means and keep asking people for money...yes i will judge your black arse.

If you are married but still living as if your single when you could have stayed unmarried yes i will judge your black arse.

People confuse not jugding to excusing behaviour that we all know is destructive/hypocritical or plain stupid.

Eughhhh....

But to answer your question,

Hypocrisy is a human trait. Everything isn't black and white.

At the beginning of mean streets
Pro blackness is an independent ideology that exists regardless of whether there are so called followers who waiver in its core tenants. Pro blackness is just that; the belief that blackness is great and is the polar opposite of anti blackness. If you care more about whether people adhere to it rather than the actual ideology itself then that's your problem. It's like some of you live in this bubble where black people are destructive and marry out, for the most part no. First of all, poverty breeds destruction, violence, and broken families. I don't really adhere to the capitalist agenda so I don't really feel comfortable with these "economic ventures" black people want us to empower ourselves through. I just think it's oddly contradictory. Second of all, I can only speak on what I experience and don't let the media fool you sweetheart. You live in Canada so you don't know the lived experiences and realities for black folks here, but it's really not that amplified.

I was like this for awhile and my wife was able to change my mind over time. One way to help the needs of our community is to build ourselves up. Are you about your paper? Find like minded black people. Trying to build a business? Find like minded black people. Connect with the other Blacks on your job if you can (especially if it's corporate). We need we each other to grow but I am not with the fuk$hit. People talking about what we are owed and sitting around waiting for it are not People I can build with long term. We've got different mindsets.
