I've decided to open a a thread for all things Power Rangers related.
For those that don't know, most parts of show, when the rangers are unmorphed are taken from the japanese Super Sentai Show.
The amount of originality in Power Rangers adaptation of the Sentai varies with each season.
PR used to adapt the previous year's Sentai season, but the last decade has been more of a pick and choose, with 1 Sentai season suits used for 2 PR seasons each, or skipping a season, then coming back to it, etc.
This sums up all the Super Sentai for you:
The last two seasons have been an adaptation of the Sentai Ryousulger, known as Power Rangers Dino Fury.
This version of PR is now being modified to become a 3rd season - a 10 episode Netflix show called Cosmic Fury, with the same team getting original, completely American made suits (the zords will be taken from another, Zodiac themed Sentai called Kyuranger):
These suits look kind of ugly and cheap in real life:
Dino fury had a few "firsts":
1) First female green ranger
2) First season with a female ranger actually taking off the skirt part of the suit on-screen
3) First season with a lesbian ranger
Cosmic Fury will change it a bit:
1) The red ranger will become the 6th ranger (champagne colored)
2) The pink ranger will become the first regular team leading red ranger!
3) the previous sixth ranger, gold, is now just a regular member.
There will also be an anniversary special this year, with a lot of MMPR actors returning (some of whom had a lot of bad blood with the show previously).
Trini's actress died 20 years ago, so her character will be acknowledge as deceased and debut her adult daughter.
Basically it's an MMPR reunion minus:
1) Austin St. John, who played Jason the Red Ranger, has been caught up in Covid Fraud.
2) Jason David Frank, who played Tommy the Green Ranger, commited suicide recently.
3) Amy Jo Johnson, who played Kimberly the Pink Ranger, has been quiet about it
