Post Legacy characters/alt versions of characters that were better than the original

Everyones familar with multiple batmans, multiple draculas, multiple sub-zero's, but sometimes the original isn't always the best creation, post legacy characters that you thought were superior to the original.

The most obvious example I can think of is this guy

being superceded by this guy.

If someone would have told me aqualad would be smacking up superboy and checkmating the likes of vandal savage and he'd be black and in charge. I wouldn't have believed him
