All these songs were released by people under the age of 25 (pretty much kids).. Imagine being a platinum selling artist and going into your labels office in 2012 and saying "I wanna lead my new album off with this"

:wow:

yep none of these songs mention racks, hoez, and molly so they wouldn't make it out of the labels offices today

Those are damn near 40 year old men (Nas and Em) and you know that songs like this are few and far between...

I was speaking more on younger artists....Lupe is almost 30 as well...

There's people on this site that are coming into this thread, reading what your saying and have no comprehension of the relevance of your point when it comes to a single release.

I didn't want to make this just a "positive or conscious" rap thread... Because it's deeper than that..Here are some more examples of what I'm talking about

Probably the least "friendliest" single ever released:

Okay you may be right fair enough...

Singles...

As in the type of music you now hear on Hot 97 or Power 105 or the type of videos on 106 and Park everyday...The type of songs that were so popular that if smart phones were poppin back then would be used as every teenagers ringtone...The type of songs that had the recognition of the beats Wayne just rapped over on Dedication 4...

Not just bonus tracks or something buried in the middle of an album tracklist..But songs that were used to promote exposure of an artist and retail sales...

U.N.I.T.Y. was pretty much Latifah's version of Beez In Da Trap or Starships...It wasn't just a throwaway track or something experimental or pandering...It was the artists mission statement...

And the labels supported it
:mindblown:
