They haven't said no yet(I believe they will though). What they said no to was the current proposal that the option contract was about. The As have said they will privately finance the stadium but many believe baseball wants the stadium to be funded by the public and that should not and will not happen in San Jose or Oakland for that matter.

The TR rights is a huge problem obviously, but baseball for whatever reason does not want two teams in the Bay Area to have two privately financed stadiums. Look at the giants their still paying loans for their stadium. And now that I think about it I can see baseballs point it would be risky.
