We hardly ever talk about UK Black culture because it’s irrelevant to us, but they feel the constant need to bring out their inferiority complex when we couldn’t even care less Notice how they often claim AADOS “don’t have a culture” and yet whole time, they jacking damn near everything they can from our culture. You can’t be jacking from a culture that you claim we don’t even have, that’s not how this shyt works Black America is a superpower within the Diaspora, and we’re the main reason America itself is even a cultural superpower in the first damn place. Hell if they REALLY wanna go there, technically Black UK don’t got a culture of its own. That shyt ain’t nothing but imported Jamaican and West/Southern African culture (since a vast majority of Black folks in the UK especially London are 1st and 2nd generation immigrants) with significant East Coast and Southern Black American undertones (as a result from persistent jacking and outright influence). Their shyt is imported and re-patented, our shyt is actually organic and homegrown. Everybody wanna be like us but they can’t I’d respect it more if it’s wasn’t outright jacking and shytting on us as if we’re somehow responsible for their culture not being on par with our own

UK booth posters like saying little slick disrespectful shyt and throwing shade while randomly using racial discord and black american social issues trying to overcompensate for what they lack musically. They weren’t relevant enough to give a f or reply to bc no one is checking for UK music or artists to the extent of what we have over here. But since they felt the need to be seen and heard, they can deal with the ramifications of their actions. As AAs we know that we are the origins and epicenter of all relative to art, entertainment, fashion, trends. When you dominate, it’s lonely at the top- jealousy brings contempt, with contempt comes hate. This is another example of them showing division and that all we got is us. Notice how Uk dudes had no problem or hesitation bringing up black men being jailed or gun violence, all that unification talk was set to the side when convenient; US posters kept it strictly about the music.

No doubt Black UK got its hood shyt and struggles, it was parts of Brixton in South London that low-key reminded me of Soufeast DC and certain parts of Brooklyn. Even Camden Town and the King’s Cross Station area looked a lil sketch at night. The shyt you see in Top Boy does happen in real life London. I just wish they would channel the energy of their strife in an original way that doesn’t have them being on some fukk shyt like Fredo “New York gotta pay tribute to the UK” lmao

Nah struggle is universal, whether you in Kingston Mogadishu or wherever, what you should say is you can’t relate to the high crime rate, but poor people are being killed everywhere in the world, there’s nothing unique about ‘struggle’.

This is bullshyt. No the struggle is not universal when you have UK posters and those from outside AA culture dehumanizing and minimizing our struggles over here in the US and downplaying the culture that they copy and clone from. As if their own culture isn’t co-opted from other countries. If all struggles are the same; then there would be a respect for boundaries which clearly they had no problem crossing and using against us. I’m actually glad they’re finally on the natural hair wave because it took them a minute to get on that. I have a large curly afro and I was getting a shyt ton of compliments from the Sistas over there when I was in London for 4 weeks back in ‘17. I’m glad I packed some shyt in small TSA-approved bottles because for a global city with a large and diverse Black population, it was damn near impossible to find stuff like Shea Moisture, African Pride, Carol’s Daughter, and even trash ass Cantu in most stores Hopefully that’s all since changed over there.
