I find this shyt fascinating... out of every pop culture act from the 60s and 70s (you can eliminate ANY major soul/funk/pop group) there's only 1 thats remained completely outside the reach of hip hop artistry

Ill post the answer in a day or 2

Its the Grateful Dead. They had a lot of blues, bluegrass and folk in their repertoire. No funk
The one song I think could work is this

Not a Dead fan, but the internet disagrees.

Whosampled.com claims that Jean Grae sampled "help on the way" for her rap song "Knock."

This Talib song samples Eleanor Rugby

yea, I heard this before. good song.

Not sure if this is a recommendation or your refuting what I said. Because I acknowledged the beatles have been sampled

I was merely pointing out that the right holders to their song don't clear samples. This is a mixtape song so talib wouldn't have to clear it.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience?

nvm, just realized they were sampled before by Pharcyde. cypress hill too.

Rolling Stones - they were sampled on some random Underachievers track, so that still counts ?

The Allman Brothers Band is probably the correct answer, but I can't be sure.
