Between comics, movies, cartoons, video games, etc., which team is the Film Room rolling with? Who had the best stories, characters, villains, and epic moments overall? (Not necessarily who would win in a fight)

The Fantastic Four- Pioneered the Marvel Universe as we know it:

The Avengers- Changed the whole comicbook movie game:

The X-men- The Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, and the 90's animated series...

Guardians of the Galaxy:

X-Men have had the most compelling stories. That's why there cinematic universe is such a disappointment. They could make Oscar level shyt if done right.

Inhumans are the WOAT

Outside of Black Bolt and Karnak, nobody cares about any of them

X-men has it by a land slide. The mutant dynamic gives the characters vulnerability and makes them easy to relate to, in a way that none of the other non X-groups can compare to. Despite the fact that many of the X characters are somewhat simplistic, they still manage to be more diverse than the other teams, and often more interesting. Days of Future Past, Dark Phoenix Saga, Age of Apocalypse are all great stories. Magneto is arguably the most dynamic main villain Marvel has, because in addition to having a very cool power, people can relate to his anger as well, and he has ranged from mentor to nemesis.

In terms of the most epic villains, Fantastic Four will always have that title, with Dr. Doom, Galactus, and other Cosmic threats, but outside of a few great stories they are boring. Avengers villains are b*stardized FF villains, or leftovers, same with GotG. Defenders? Boring.

X-men have Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Forge, Nightcrawler, Beast, Psylocke, Shadowcat, among others. Lots of fun or interesting characters. Avengers have had some good rosters here and there, but for the most part they were most interesting in their Ultimate Incarnation, because they were more human.

The fact that there are so many X-men spin-offs; New Mutants; X-Factor; Generation-X, Excalibur, and more, speaks to how great they are. The 90s X-men cartoon is one of the best animated series of a comic book of all time. X-men Evolution, Anime X-men, and Wolverine and the X-men were pretty good too, but not top 10 material. Avengers EMH was fantastic though. X-Men Arcades Revenge was a great game for all the old heads, as was that X-men Arcade game. X-Men COTA set the standard for the Capcom Vs Series.

Also even though no one remembers them Alpha Flight >>>>>>> Defenders & Inhumans. In fact...Micronauts >>> Inhumans. Silver Surfer, Hulk, Strange, and Namor being on the same team is a recipe for random jobbing, and plot induced stupidity, which is why Defenders tend to be boring. MCU Defenders should be solid though.

It is tragic that the X-men movies are so badly written. The problem is not (generally) with actors, casting, or even budget. A single good director and a decent script would work wonders. A Fantastic Four movie that doesn't suck would be nice. Maybe the Four of them in a Vs Game will finally happen.
