I agree that the bisexuality in the show is tacked on very casually , but after digesting it more I think in a way it's very cleverly done in that it highlights the perversions most politicians and men of power enjoy. We now know that people like Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Kennedy etc all engaged in some very questionable sexual behavior. Why not Frank Underwood? This is a man who murdered and played his way from whip to where he is at the end of S2 by any means necessary. That type of greed and personality is often associated with sexual deviancy and hypersexuality. I know you want to idolize him, because he is a man of power, quick wit, and decisive action. But he is also a backstabbing sociopath piece of shyt. Most great leaders have similar skeletons in their closet. In the olden days of monarchy, how many of those people were sexually questionable. What about your prophet, Muhammad? You (and nearly everyone else about to post in this topic) are making the mistake of thinking that it's about promoting homosexuality. It's not. You're supposed to loathe Frank Underwood, not admire him.

Well, I wasn't really thinking agenda or promoting gay shyt..(surprisingly)
I was just saying they could have left that out. I mean I gave a pass to the past college stuff where I guess he used to smash the other military cadet.
But this season... they didn't have to go w the 3some because WE GET IT, he tested the gay waters.... seems like they just want to make it part of his character.

And I also felt it was definitely sensationalized. But on the other hand I think it was interesting because it showed how men in power often reach out to people close to them sexually. Think about it this way; who did Clinton choose to have his affair with? Monica Lewinsky. Not because she was powerful or very attractive, but because she was close to his sphere of control. It's not even really about having sexual preferences to me. It's more like some prison shyt. Meacham protects him, and his wife, but Underwood owns him. He's nothing but a pawn, a prop. But one he trusts implicitly and knows he can control. Just like someone else in S1 was. Who knows what might happen if he can't trust Meacham anymore?
