The New York Times ran two opinion pieces within about a week after uvalde advocating for photos of the dead kids to be released on some Emmett till reasoning.

Apparently the parents of sandy hook all got together to try and make it illegal to do that with their kids’ photos. You could see some parents wanting the opposite though.

The opinion pieces were pretty weird and craven. Saying we should release a single photo to run in every major newspaper every time there’s a mass shooting, but that any released video would be ‘ghoulish’ like where are these people coming from
