Since it’s using remote play. Does that mean the ps5 pretty much still takes up your tv? If so that defeats the propose for me.

Depending on how well it performs, I may cop. This thing better be WiFi 6 capable at a minimum.
this is silly and unnecessary. Its not a standalone console. Gamepass lets you do the same thing with your own already existing controllers and on any device(ipads, phones, kitchen fridges, etc).
So Rather than helping their customer base in an area they are lagging in , sony responds by milking them for money

You can do that on ps5 also. I remote play on my IPad every other day
This is just a dedicated device, like a backbone, except it has a better screen and a dualsense. It makes it less tedious
