8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee.
Yeah we've talked about it before in the illusions thread I think but I don't think ppl look on history the "right" way. Technologies were different, and day to day looked different but people are always the same man. No telling what kinda tactics used to gain converts and accrue power. I mean we know this just from how much christian liturgy has changed over the few thousand years. That's not even touching Gnosticism and how the disciples apparently didn't get along and ppl hated Mary Magdalene even though she was supposed to be the most favored by Jesus? Humans are fallible and have agendas lol.what confuses me is why the monks felt the need to even make depictions
the more i read of the medieval past the less i believe them. Monk basically holding up a mirror of himself imo
Genesis 49:8
thats why peter is the rock of the church Judah is the one thy brehthren shall praiseYeah we've talked about it before in the illusions thread I think but I don't think ppl look on history the "right" way. 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
so many levels because if you read this stuff literally, that these ppl exist then it makes sense them hating on a woman for receiving visions and gospel but if you read it esoterically/metaphorically as the woman = that deeper part of mind and man the conscious mind then it works too that the conscious mind can't grasp messages from the deep eitherthats why peter is the rock of the church Judah is the one thy brehthren shall praise
Matthew 16:22
have you ever reconsidered this line early in the Gospels??so many levels because if you read this stuff literally, that these ppl exist then it makes sense them hating on a woman for receiving visions and gospel but if you read it esoterically/metaphorically as the woman = that deeper part of mind and man the conscious mind then it works too that the conscious mind can't grasp messages from the deep either
17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
In the Japanese creation myth Izanagi's sister-wife Izanami dies while birthing. He goes to underworld to save her, she agrees to follow him out but he has to agree to not turn around and look at her. You've heard this story before ofc lol, he turns around and seeing her rotting and filled with maggots he runs and covers the entrance to the underworld with a rock. Screaming from behind the rock she promises to kill 1000 living beings everyday, he promises to give life to 1500 living beings everyday to offset.have you ever reconsidered this line early in the Gospels??
Matthew 2:17-21
