PJ Carlesimo should've gracefully bowed out after he got choked out by Spree

Watchin' this Nets/Celtics game I spotted PJ on the Nets bench.. like this dude is still at it. Lets face it his coaching career has never recovered from that Spreewell Choke from years back. And Spree had that angry Sam Jackson face workin' back then so you knew that choke was real as fukk when you first heard about it

-but that choke kinda took his manhood a little, GM's probably felt that if they hired him as head coach for their team that he could possibly could get choked out again and lose the locker room and thus a wasted season. I heard he was an a$$hole though and that's why Spree put those hands on him

PJ is a decent coach. But i think he is built more for the assistant role or as a head coach at a decent college. Don't think he has it in him to be a head coach in the NBA anymore. Look at his last five years as a coach.

PJ did some sort of interview where he said something along the lines of that he has gotten over the choking incident butpeople in the stands taunting him about the chokejob still bother him.

That Sprewell incident was basically the death of the hard nose coach, though. Pretty much after this it seemed liked coaches getting fired skyrocketed and organizations would rather bring in a new coach than risk a Sprewell incident and this new breed of athlete clearly wasn't to be fukked with. This almost happened earlier with the Warriors with Webber and Don Nelson

Yeah, I agree. Calipari and Pitino went back and are kings now, Sometimes the NBA just isnt for you. These former NCAA coaches that Fail in the NBA go back because they know running a program will bump your NBA salary by 10...

Na, Tom Coughlin is the perfect example of a hard-nosed coach that is no nonsense but still earns the respect of his players. PJ was just an a$$hole who pushed all the wrong buttons and eventually crossed that line.

The fact that Spree didnt get black balled after the incident said alot.He went to New York became a fan favorite help lead them to the Finals in 99. Almost made the Finals in 04 with KG and Sam Cassell. The fact that a team was willing to pay him $21 million over 3 years says alot.
