Pilot has heart attack in middle of flight!

A passenger airline pilot had a heart attack in midair late Thursday, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing, an airport spokeswoman said.
United Airlines flight 1603 was on its way from Houston to Seattle, when it diverted to Boise, Idaho, at 8 p.m. MT (6 p.m. ET), said Patti Miller.

Paramedics boarded the plane upon its landing and took the pilot to the hospital. There have been no reports on his condition.

The Boeing 737 airliner and its passengers waited at the Boise airport for some time until the airline flew in another pilot from San Francisco.

passenger planes do not take off or do full landings on autopilot. those are the most important moments of a flight and the most important reason pilots are necessary.

saying pilots are mostly not needed is highly shortsighted and only accurate when the plane is already in flight.
