New AMC drama to air in Spring 2017
Pierce Brosnan celebrates his good fortune in the first teaser for “The Son.”
The new AMC drama was ordered straight-to-series, with 10 hour-long episodes set to air in spring 2017. It is described as a multi-generational epic telling of America’s birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family, with Brosnan playing the father. It also stars Henry Garrett, Zahn McClarnon, Paola Nunez and Sydney Lucas.
Brosnan replaced “Jurassic Park” star Sam Neill in the lead role of Eli McCullough in the new series, which is based on Philipp Meyer’s novel of the same name.
The series from AMC Studios and Sonar Entertainment is written and executive produced by Meyer, Lee Shipman, Brian McGreevy and showrunner Kevin Murphy. Jenna Glazier will produce for Sonar.
