The old tradition is mystical and unknown so there are a lot of schools and groups beyond the actual Shoalin temple that one can participate in and train with in the area

just join a legitmate kungfu class in your area. i've trained with a real chinese sifu and learned 7th star chinese kungfu. it's a great art to learn that goes just beyond martial arts. i took the class to go beat up niccas but it really hit me spiritually and made me even more calm than i went in.
that sifu is known all over the country. i can still beat up niccas but since i'm now a old nicca only use the kungfu sh1t mostly for dance.
that's the shyt my burb ass did for after school program. i fuqqed with the chinese sh1t for a while and in the 90s instead of the regular gangsta sh1t my peers watched i watched the kungfu movies.
This is fake. I actually had a supervisor once tell me he did underground fighting and showed our team this video saying the white guy was him. It was so embarrassing because i knew it was just a some cam footage from one of those mma films they released maybe 5 years ago.
Man, I was gon train with a sifu back in high school but I couldn't come up with the money. Dude taught Jow Ga Kungfu and had a Black and Red belt level, I wanted that damn belt but it rubbed him the wrong way that I was out for a prize instead of the teachings. I'd still try this shyt if I ever find the time, it'd be a great supplement to the Boxing knowledge that I already got.
Its crazy to think brehs like Bruce Lee trained at these Shaolin Temples, makes me wanna fukk with them on some Wu Tang shyt a nikka tryna train in the 36 chambers.
the way that sh1t hit me i can't even call it martial arts or sport like boxing. to me kunguf was spiritual
he was trying to teach me the real real sh1t. but it got too expensive so i stopped... i got many of my friends to his school who advanced to black belts and even became teachers in his school.
i just have more respect of the chinese arts than other arts.
the one i'd have really really like to learn was capoeira cause it's more dance and i like to get down..

Yeah me and my best friends was kungfu movie heads. Both of them got to take Kungfu I think they did Wu Shu, my cheap ass dad on some Ethiopian shyt talkin bout some stay in school shyt. My friend cousin did the Jow Ga joint and told me great things about it that's why I wanted to try it but yeah the costs are real high like you said that made me not want to do it. But I definitely wanted to do Kungfu for ass kickin purposes but now it's for the spiritual side of it now that I learned a little about Zen Buddhism.
Honestly, I'd love to learn all the different martial arts. All of them offer something unique.
