oh ok, yeah in that case, you are right about that.. i remember my grandmother tellin me that black people were better off before integration. she said that we had all of our own shyt and didnt depend on the system or the white man. we owned our own businesses , agriculture, skilled trades etc. We literally built our own communities, schools and infrastructures

It's so beautiful to see a time when we understood that we needed each other to get further in life. When I see and hear all this light-skinned vs dark-skinned shyt it makes me so ashamed that we've strayed so far from the unity our ancestors died for

I got chills seeing that Black Wall Street graphic and pic, my alma mater (NC Central) probably wouldn't be what it is without the influence and assistance of the likes of WG Pearson, John Merrick etc. A few buildings on campus are named after prominent members of the community from that era

What was once a bustling area of economic prosperity, is nothing but a shadow of its former self. smh Durham still has a special place in my heart though.
