Photons aren't real (no really)

This is a really tough watch if you haven't taken a decent level of science courses. I'm still struggling to absorb it all.





He explains photons as nothing more than electron and EM field interactions. He then gives examples that show how inconsistencies and silliness in classic experiments (like the double-slit test) can all be explained away with his model.

I watch this guy's channel, he's working on some alternative theories for quantum mechanics and relativity. I don't even think he's formally educated, so he comes at everything from a completely different angle. If dude is right, he's sure thing getting the Nobel.

Really low view count on his content lately this one looks like it's finally doing some decent numbers.

We did not make photons up, there is no need to ‘solve’ the particle / wave duality, it has already been figured out. All particles are excitations of fields (quantum field theory) and they can express these excitations in a wave or localized area. Photons are an excitation of the electromagnetic field. The entire title of the video has already been solved. All particles are like this, not just photons. I’m perplexed by the very basis of his video.

But it’s neither. Photons are excitations of the electromagnetic field. All particles are excitations of their associated field. They can be localized or waves.

The underlying nature of our existence and what we experience/perceive is so fundamentally bizarre. And unfortunately most people don’t have even the slightest clue about it all.
