I would've been dishing the ball to Kat from the perimeter in the last minute.
Not going to KAT down the stretch really hurt our chances of winning. He had a mismatch in the post which he did score earlier but JB never really made an effort to get him the ball in that position again. Had we gave him the ball in the post, the double teams would've come & that means either open cutters or wide open 3's. JB & Thibs need to trust & defer to KAT more if we're gonna be serious contenders. This was a very winnable game despite the BS

It's tougher to feed the screenman when teams switch everything, but that's only so much of an excuse. KAT had Jalen Williams on him and didn't get enough chances to punish that mismatch in the post because of our scheme.

To me, the bigger problem was going away from Mikal. The whole point of Mikal was to punish teams if they put all their dogs on Brunson and KAT. Bridges was doing that throughout the first three quarters...so wtf is he barely touching the ball in the fourth? I get going to Brunson to close out tough games, but if Bridges has 20+ points in three quarters, don't get away from it.

The other big mistake was what the reporter mentioned. Putting the whole bench in to start the fourth, instead of keeping a lead ball-handler in was a killer. You might get away with it when Deuce is available, but Cam Payne/Landry Shamet/Precious Achiuwa/KAT isn't enough spacing or ball-handling to get offense against the best defense in the league. You're setting them up to fail and giving the Thunder runway to momentum against for the fourth.

Very true & especially on the Bridges point because he was cooking early. It was working for 3 quarters & then it comes to a screeching halt. Also KAT was drawing so much attention when he did touch the ball, it would've opened up ball movement & open shots. I think Thibs will make the necessary adjustments as he's shown he can do to put us in a better position to win. Expect team film studies lol

But JB needs to trust his teammates more & not try to force things down the stretch. Teams are better prepared to deal with his scoring ability than they have in the past. It's a major reason he's struggling more than he has. He HAS to unlock his play making ability more which will open up those opportunities & take him to the next level

How hard is it to be in the huddle and say, let's go thru Mikal. Coaches and players alike

This combo isn't good enough to play together fr. People want Thibs to play their bench and rookies more but their best one is another undersized PG in Kolek. If he wants to get to playing 9 guys like he did when he had Quickley, Grimes, Donte, Obi, 6th man Rose then Leon gonna have to make a trade.

I think (maybe wishful thinking) Kolek/Deuce/Shamet/Precious can work, but we'll need to see it to find out. Kolek's playmaking and Deuce/Shamet's shooting would compliment each other in theory. Then Deuce/Shamet/Precious defensively could mask Kolek's weakness somewhat.

But the other thing is that Thibs could just learn to stagger his bench substitutions. I know he'll never do it, or it least he never has. But it's nuts that OG was grabbing his elbow, and Thibs STILL didn't adjust.
