It's tougher to feed the screenman when teams switch everything, but that's only so much of an excuse. KAT had Jalen Williams on him and didn't get enough chances to punish that mismatch in the post because of our scheme.
To me, the bigger problem was going away from Mikal. The whole point of Mikal was to punish teams if they put all their dogs on Brunson and KAT. Bridges was doing that throughout the first three quarters...so wtf is he barely touching the ball in the fourth? I get going to Brunson to close out tough games, but if Bridges has 20+ points in three quarters, don't get away from it.
The other big mistake was what the reporter mentioned. Putting the whole bench in to start the fourth, instead of keeping a lead ball-handler in was a killer. You might get away with it when Deuce is available, but Cam Payne/Landry Shamet/Precious Achiuwa/KAT isn't enough spacing or ball-handling to get offense against the best defense in the league. You're setting them up to fail and giving the Thunder runway to momentum against for the fourth.
