Royal Caribbean in October.
3 outfits per day minimum
Why is this?I’m not going to a cruise, but I wanted to chime in, because I’ve been on 3 cruises.
There will be LOTS of fat people. You will wonder how they fit in those tiny showers. They don’t. Don’t waste money on the soda card. It’s fountain soda, and not the real soda.
Now that I got that out the way, make sure y’all bring enough clothes. You need multiple outfits per day.
If you workout, you need gym clothes. Then you need a daytime, activity outfit. When you get back to the ship, you’re going to be sweaty, and need to shower before dinner, and you need another outfit to chill in. Then, depending on your dinner choice, you need a formal fit for the dining room, or if you choose casual dining, you can just wear what you wear after the post excursion shower. If you go to a show, or a lounge, or casino, you may want to have nice slacks, and a button down. You need swimwear. You need a nice straw fedora. You need nice aviator sunglasses. You need at least one cream short sleeve button down, and a pair of cream shorts, probably linen. Bring 2 wife beaters per day, although you’ll probably get away with going bare chest under button downs depending on your fitness level.
Why is this?
I just explained it. You go on shore excursions during the day. It’s hot. You don’t want to go to dinner with your dry sweat. You have to shower when you get back. Plus there are water activities depending on what they will do when they dock. So you need multiple outfits per day. It would be like going to dinner at a nice restaurant in your grocery store errands outfit after you sweated on a carribean island, or chilled at the beach all day.
There is usually a long gap of time between when you have to be back on the ship, and when you go to dinner. So you have a day outfit, evening outfit, and night outfit, plus your swimwear, and casual clothes for chilling around the ship.
If you buy liquor at the liquor store ahead of time, they make you pay a $15 corking fee per bottle. Don’t try to smuggle it in other bottles. Some guys had a pack of water. The crew opened the pack, and shook every single bottle to make sure it wasn’t clear liquor.Dayum, good thread.
I was gonna bring 3 fits total and a nice fit for the dinner but I see I may need more.
First time doing Carnival, leaving out of Miami.
What should I expect?
