why do it though? shouldnt you just work on your forearms doing deadlifts, pullups etc?

Deadlifts and pull-ups, forearm curls do work on strengthening grip. The bar with the rope attached to a free weight plate is more of a low weight/high rep type exercise.Curl Exercises & Upper Body Fitness : How to Do a Forearm Curl Exercise with a Rope - YouTube

like i said, maybe they're training for a specific sport which requires forearm strength without getting massive. or maybe they do the big lifts and do this as extra.that shyt stupid. why isolate forearms when so many compounds require a sturdy grip?
