Pc Gamers how do you deal with games that don't work?

I built a pc two years ago and my graphics card is a geforce 470 i hardly have time for games but when i see a steam or origin sale i go in. But a lot of the times only half the games work. For instance L.A. Noir only gets to the lighted sign and i can't click to start the game wtf! I downloaded a need for speed game that doesn't even install and now fifa 12 which was working fine won't start when i press play



Look i like the fact that the graphics are better and the games run smoother but i mean should i get a new processor and a new graphics card? I'm not some IT guy or have the time to be finding solutions to this crap when i have time to get a little quick game thats all I want i can't spend an hour trying to get the game to work emailing some IT guy from India who's solutions don't fix shyt

PC gurus what do you guys do to make these games work?

seriously, google is your friend nowadays. theres a great chance someone else has that issue as well.

if u wanna pc game, u gotta at least now some basic stuff, like tinkering with ini files and settings to optimize performance...and search shyt on google.

uninstall, reinstall.......google if it still doesn't work.

I haven't had to do anything to play a game in a VERY long time.

I know the LA noire issue nobody found a solution so I guess when I have time I'll uninstall and reinstall the games with issues max Payne 3 and arckham city have been awesome though

IIRC, 470 shouldn't have any major issues with most games right?

I think I've heard LA Noire is a really bad port but outside of that, there shouldn't be an issue with the model itself.






To answer the question I google, I try the "repair install" option in steam and if it's still not working and i haven't found a solution, i reinstall. But I can't say I've had an issue with games not loading at all.

LA noire is a shytty ass port breh, you might be fukked with that one. For the most part though, we gotta wait shyt out or spend time fixing it w/ google help. I remember not being able to play FONV for like 4 months, I just and left that shyt alone for like half a year. Couldn't play black ops for like 6 months no matter what I did, sometimes you just gotta take your L when it comes to bad ports.

Whenever I have an issue, its usually the gfx driver or the game itself, which needs patching. No problems with LA Noire

you guys were right i had to tinker with the game launcher files in the steamapps for la noire and it worked after that

well worth the trouble pc games are so much better than console its a shame its not supported like it should be especially with those steam sales...still mad gears of war series really hasn't been ported to pc
