Pats-Ravens routs Emmys in TV ratings

Sunday's Patriots-Ravens game was a loss for New England but a big win for NBC. The network averaged a 9.9 rating and 15 share as an estimated 15.92 million people tuned in to watch the Pats drop a 31-30 heartbreaker.

The game easily outdrew the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC, which drew 10.52 million viewers.

The rating was the best NFL Week 3 game rating in four years and the second-best Week 3 primetime game since 1997.

Baltimore had the highest market representation with a 38.3 rating and 54 share. Boston was second at 37.1 and 56, followed by Providence (29.3 and 43).

I wonder what the hourly break down was for that game and if all those awful ref calls added to the viewership.

Might have been one of the most dramatic endings to a regular-season game I've ever seen. Top 5, at least. We were at the edge of our seats over here.

I honestly didn't know the Emmys were on yesterday until like Sunday morning.

Same fukkin winners/nominees every year anyway.

It's to the point where it's not even fair to put these award shows in the same category with football.

not disputing any of the bolded, and I admit controversial was a better word to use than hype.
I'm just talking in terms of media fallout.

Also last season had to take care alot of business so I didn't get to watch as much as I usually do.
